About Us
Saturn Biotech Limited is a private company, located at the State Agricultural Biotechnology Centre, a West Australian centre of excellence, with state of the art molecular research facilities at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. We are dedicated to the provision of molecular, diagnostic genetic services and research.
Our team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals apply cutting edge technologies, using the latest state of the art equipment and enabling technologies, such as bioinformatics, robotics etc., for the delivery of quality, high throughput, molecular genetic and proteomic services to agriculture and related industries.
Saturn Biotech also provide cost effective contract research, and are participants in the National Plant Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre.
Constant research, both private and government funded, as well as collaboration with academics and other industry research groups, enables us to continually improve existing diagnostic services, and develop new ones as required by industry.

Chris Florides
Mr. Chris Florides BSc (Hons) CPAg
Managing Director
An Agricultural scientist with post graduate qualifications in Agricultural Biotechnology, Chris Florides has over thirty years of global and national experience in the agricultural industry, both in Research & Development as well as sales and marketing. He has successfully managed the Agricultural Chemical businesses of three multinational companies (ICI, DOW CHEMICAL and UNIROYAL) and more recently he founded, developed and sold a primary production enterprise and a grain processing company.
He is a past president (WA branch) and a past director of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology, and a current ambassador of Science (Biotechnology) with ScienceNetwork WA. He is a CPAg (Certified Practicing Agriculturalist) and a dedicated mentor of students interested in the industry.
Mr John Horan
Non-Executive Chairman
Mr John Horan is a Fellow of CPA Australia, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries in Australia, a member of the Australian Society of Corporate Treasurers and a member of the Australian Mining and Petroleum Law Association.
Mr Mark Pitts
Director of Finance
Mr Mark Pitts is a Chartered Accountant and businessman, with over 20 years experience in statutory reporting and business administration.
Dr Philip Williams

Dr Phillip Williams is a retired Chiropractor, a professional investor and businessman.

Saturn's mission is to become a world leader in the delivery of high throughput molecular genetic services, strategic research and successful commercialisation of novel products, for sustainable solutions to problems faced by agriculture and related disciplines.
Scientific Advisory Committee
Saturn has a scientific advisory committee made up of eminent scientists from all sectors of the industry. It meets at regular intervals and provides expert input and advice on strategy and direction.
